Harvest Bible Chapel Modesto is part of a movement that is reaching across the globe.
Beginning in September 1988, Harvest Bible Chapel Chicago met in a conference room with 18 followers of Jesus Christ who wanted a different kind of church in the Chicago area—a church where Christ would be worshiped in Spirit and in Truth. God led them to call 27-year-old James MacDonald to be their pastor in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. By God’s hand, Harvest Bible Chapel has grown into a healthy, functioning fellowship of over 14,000 individuals on seven Chicagoland campuses.
In 2001, Harvest Bible Fellowship launched a global church planting initiative that has led to 90+ growing churches throughout the United States, Canada, and throughout the world.
As part of the global church planting initiative, Harvest is planting Harvest Bible Chapel Modesto. In 2014, the leadership of Harvest Bible Fellowship saw God at work in the Central Valley of California with churches planted in Fresno and Sacramento. Families and individuals had been praying for an extended season for a new church that would be known for unapologetic preaching, unashamed adoration, unceasing prayer, and an unafraid witness. We stand shoulder to shoulder with 100+ churches who are passionate about making disciples and look forward to what the Lord has planned for 2014 and beyond. God is at work, we are here to show you!
All of this started with a few questions and the answers have radically impacted everyone who has been a part of Harvest Bible Chapel.
WHAT IF THERE WAS A CHURCH…
and that souls were profoundly altered in hearing its truths proclaimed as the very words of God?
where worship was not part of the service or part of the week, but the consuming passion of the congregation and its leaders?
that He considered the pleas of His people when they cried out to Him in faith, and powerfully moved in response?
and that being the hands and feet of Jesus to people in pain was far superior to seeing the gospel as a transaction of human persuasion and cultural savvy?
Jesus declared, “…upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” – Matthew 16:18. God is at work in Modesto planting a fellowship of believers who are rallying around the answer to these kinds of questions, because we firmly believe that God is at work in the lives of people, our community, the nation, and the world. God is at work, the question is are you there at work with Him?
